Last 11th October, Sofitel Marrakech Lounge & Spa put the spotlight on the author Yassin Adnan and his book “Marrakech lieux évanescents” co-written with several authors describing their favorite places in Marrakech and the stories they lived there.
During this event, a reading was held at Palais Darkum with Yassin Adnan and the five authors who participated in the writing of the book. The reading was followed by informal talks with the public and an autograph session.
Born in Safi in 1970, Yassin Adnan has lived in Marrakech since the age of four. During seventeen years he alternates works of poems and novels. In 2008, he co-wrote with Saad Sarhane the book “Marrakech : secrets affichés” edited by Marsam. His first novel “Hot Maroc” published in 2016 was selected for the Arabic Fiction Prize (Arabic Booker Prize 2017). “Marrakech noir” a book of fifteen novels representing the districts of the ocher city, has just been published in english by Akashic Books in New-York.
