The renowned French author and novelist, Marc Levy, participated to the Colombian Hay Festival, January 25th to January 28th 2018 which took place at Sofitel Legend Santa Clara in Cartagena de Indias.
More than 200 enthusiastic guests enjoyed his talk, which was part of the Sofitel Escales Litteraires program. Marc Levy was interviewed by famous Colombian journalist and writer, Felipe Restrepo Pombo.
The Sofitel Legend Santa Clara is host of the International Hay Festival in Colombia since 2005.
Marc Levy was born in Boulogne-Billancourt, France and is considered one of the most read authors of his country. He was a lifeguard for the Red Cross at age 18, where he worked for eight more years. Then he moved to the United States where he founded a digital imaging company, after 9 years he returned to Paris, where he also made his way into an architecture company.
However, his life changes at age 39 when she decides to write a book for his son. From there, begins his successful literary career that leads him to write in 2000 his first novel, “Et si c’était vrai” (I wish it was true), which becomes an international bestseller translated into 38 languages and Dreamworks makes it in Mark Waters’ hit film Just Like Heaven, which in Spain was titled the same as the novel.
His literary work includes novels such as “Return to see you”, “The first day”, “If I could go back”, “Things we did not say” and “The children of Liberty”, among others.
For Sofitel Legend Santa Clara was a real privilege to have the presence of this important French writer, who has become a benchmark of contemporary literature.
